Vanessa Leigh is a local singer-songwriter from Benbrook, TX. Growing up, Vanessa loved singing for anyone who would listen. Most often you would find her with a makeshift microphone in hand singing to trees, stuffed animals, or anyone who would listen. As a child Vanessa was active with music programs throughout her community. However, after graduation, she followed her family members' footsteps before her and joined the United States Navy. Vanessa Leigh served in the Navy as a Corpsman (medic) for 6 years. She was stationed in Chicago, IL and Rota, Spain. The Navy gave her the confidence she needed to pursue her dreams and share her musical gift with the world. Out of the Navy in 2010, Vanessa went to college and obtained her degree, but that just wasn’t enough for her. She remembered that dream she once had as a young girl and decided to pursue it. Now you can find Vanesssa Leigh on stages throughout the city and hopefully soon across the country.
I strive to celebrate and empower women by performing live music featuring women in music!
